JD Wakeboard School is very popular and a great place to get some pro tips on how to ski and wakeboard. They are Canada's first only Wakeboard school. They know their stuff and make it fun. They operate out of Woods lake, the warmest and best water (calmest) in the Okanagan Valley.

Wakefest rolls into Waterfront Park, Kelowna, BC for the biggest beach party of the Summer. Wakefest presented by Coors Light features the Pro Wakeboard Tour with some of the World's best Wakeboarders including last year's winner Parks Bonifay and Canadian Favorite Chad Sharp.

Kelowna, B.C. becomes the site for one of the summer’s hottest events – the Extreme Sports Series Wakefest presented by Coors Light – and it is always overflowing with something for every fan of summer, including exciting wakeboarding action, the hottest music, and guys and girls soaking up the sunshine! 

A limited number of special weekend passes for the event are available through Ticketmaster, giving fans access to all of the great action on the water and the evening concert series.  

 The weekend kicks off with a special media availability session with top wakeboarders from the U.S. Pro Wakeboard Tour.  Media is permitted to photograph and videotape from the boat as the athletes practice for the weekend’s action providing spectacular shots usually not available during the competition.   

Making its annual stop in Kelowna, Lake Okanagan’s Waterfront Park will be the stage as many of the world’s top wakeboarders, including Darin Shapiro, Parks Bonifay, and local sensation Chad Sharpe from Cloverdale, B.C., compete for $30,000 USD in prize money.  The popular party also goes into the night with great music all weekend long featuring Andrew WK, The Ataris, Choke, Out of Your Mouth, Supagroup, and local musicians, “Blinded”, who will kick off the concert series with the Power 104FM Power Slot on Friday night.

 “The whole atmosphere of Wakefest is high energy and the combined action on the water and on the concert stage keep the fans going all weekend long,” said Mark Taylor, vice president of IMG Action Sports.  “Each year Wakefest is one of the most popular outdoor events of the summer and with a superb lineup of competitors and bands, this year will be even better!”

 WAKEFEST MEDIA DAY

Top wakeboarders from the U.S. Pro Wakeboard Tour will be available to the media for  interviews.  Cameras will also be permitted to shoot from the boat as the athletes practice, providing spectacular shots usually not available during the competition.

Andrew Adkison – the 2002 Pro Wakeboard Tour Rookie of the Year who finished  4^th in the world in 2003.
