Fare Zone Boundaries

The transit service area is divided into two fare zones. The fare you pay is based on the number of zones you are travelling through. When you make a trip that crosses a zone boundary, you will pay a multi-zone fare if you are using cash or tickets.

Monthly Passes and DayPasses are valid region-wide.

Save on Fares

Tickets: Save when you buy a sheet of 10 tickets.

DayPass: You may use a DayPass as many times in one day as you wish. DayPasses are valid region-wide. If you plan to take several trips in a day, you will save money by using a DayPass.

Monthly Pass: When you purchase a monthly pass, you have unlimited travel on the transit system for a month for the same price as 12 return trips.

Semester Pass: A Semester Pass (four months) is avialable to fully registered student. Save $26 a semester with this pass.

Transfers

If you are paying cash or using tickets, and have to travel on more than one bus to complete your trip, you will need a transfer from the driver.

Be sure to request your transfer as you pay your fare. If you have to take more than two buses to complete your trip, you can use the same transfer.

Transfers are free, and they are good for one-way travel, valid for the first connecting bus at transfer points only.

Transfers are red for one-zone travel and blue for multi-zone travel to the Westside or Lake Country. If you travel between downtown and the second fare zone, ask the driver for a blue transfer.

When boarding the suburban bus, please let the driver know if you are travelling within one zone, or across two zones.

When you board your connecting bus, show your transfer to the driver with the transfer facing up, and the time showing.

Lost and Found

If you lose something on the bus call 860-8121. If you find something on the bus, give it to the driver who will deliver it to Lost and Found.

Kelowna Regional Transit System will keep articles in Lost and Found for up to 90 days. If you call the Lost and Found number, and your article is still in Lost and found, you have seven days to go pick it up before it goes to a charitable organisation.

Lost and Found is located at the Farwest Transit Services office at 1494 Hardy Street in Kelowna.

Kelowna Regional handyDART

handyDART is a transportation service for persons who have a disability that is sufficiently severe that the person is unable to use conventional transit service without assistance. The service is provided to and from accessible building entrances.

handyDART Registration

You must register with handyDART before you can use the service. (There is no fee to register.) To register, call 762-3278 on Monday through Friday, between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. The handyDART staff will ask your name, mailing address and telephone number, then send you an application form. Please complete the application and return it to the office.

Booking a handyDART Trip

To book a trip with handyDART, call 762-3278 on Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Service Description

There are two types of handyDART service:

• Regular subscription trips once a week or more often.
• One-time trips for purposes such as shopping, social visits or recreational activities.

Cancelling a Trip

If your plans change, and you no longer need your handyDART reservation, please call us at 762-3274 as soon as possible so that we can schedule a trip for someone else.
