Okanagan Lake is 145 km. (90 miles) long. Okanagan Lake Bridge (built in 1958) is the longest floating bridge in North America (7/8 mile). Kelowna encompasses 101.2 square miles. The Famous Bridge was replaced and the beautiful new one opened in 2008. Showing how this city can grown and keep pace with modern needs. The General Hospital is the largest and most comprehensive in the southern B.C. interior maintaining 329 beds. A full treatment cancer clinic opened in April, 1998. A new hospital along with the most modern lab technology is in the process of transition.

Home to several local theatre groups, a symphony orchestra, a museum and numerous art galleries.

Okanagan University College has two Kelowna campuses and offers university and transfer programs, as well as wide range of adult education and trades courses.

UBCO is University of British Columbia Okanagan our next door neigbour is now accredited with University of British Columbia UBC in Vancouver.
